Grief Support for the Loss of Loved Ones
Grieving is an important and difficult process after the passing of a loved one. In addition to the bereavement services we provide, the following resources are available to you to help you with the grieving process.
Grief Support Resources:
A service provided by Alberta Health Services to book one on one counselling with a counsellor. Group counselling is also available and is provided from September to June each year.
A service providing the Grief Recovery Method, which provides programs and resources to help you deal with your loss. They offer programs all over North America, and provide support for both individuals and groups.
The Compassionate Friends of Canada
Grief support mainly focusing on supporting people who have lost a child. They have articles on grief and contact information for their chapters all across Canada that can be contacted for support.
Provides support groups and seminars with people going that have experienced grief. Has resources to help you find a grief recovery support group, books and audiobooks on grief, and a six week journey with daily readings on to help you with the grief recovery process.
International organization that provides grief support to children and teens. Has support programs for ages 3 and up, has support programs for adults to help with their own grief and help their children with their grief as well.
The Center for Loss and Life Transition
Lead by Dr. Alan Wolfelt a grief counsellor and educator. He provides seminars, books and resources on grief and loss.
Created by James E. Miller, he created numerous books, audiobooks, and videos on grief that are available for purchase.
